Starting Monday, 26th May, the Italian Consulate in Mumbai will begin accepting student visa applications for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The Consulate General in Mumbai will process study visa applications only through the VFS centres located in Mumbai and Cochin.
Important notes
- If a student has obtained their degree/diploma from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Kerala, they can apply for DOV and visa at VFS Mahalaxmi at the same time of the visa application.
- If a student has obtained their degree/diploma from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, they can apply for a study visa at VFS Mahalaxmi only if they have already obtained the DOV from our Consulate General in Bangalore.
- Important reminder for applicants that need to submit a DOV: the degree/school certificate must have the Apostille and the Higher Education Stamp.
- Interview is mandatory.
